Alternatively, continue on the A419 to Cirencester, making use of some dual-carriageway stretches, including the bypass around Cirencester.
- M4 (east) - leave at Junction 17, the Malmesbury exit. Take the A429 north, direction Malmesbury and Cirencester. This road joins the Fosse Way just before Cirencester.
- M5 (north) - leave at Junction 11A, pick up the A417, direction Cirencester, and then join the A436 near the top of the hill (Cotswold Escarpment).
- M5 (south) - leave at Junction 9, the Tewkesbury exit, but take the A46 (previously A438) east, direction Evesham, and where it meets the A435, continue straight on to join the B4077. This road climbs the Cotswold Escarpment at Stanway.
- M5 (south) - leave at Junction 7, the Worcester exit, but take the A44 east, direction Pershore and Evesham. Bypass Broadway, then take the A424. This road climbs the Cotswold Escarpment at Broadway.
- M40 (north) - leave at Junction 8, and continue on the A40 to Oxford. After Oxford, either continue on the A40 to Burford and then the A424, or take the A44 through into Chipping Norton and then the A436. The times and distances are similar. The latter route passes Blenheim Palace at Woodstock.
- M40 (south) - leave at Junction 11, the Banbury exit, and take the A361 south to Chipping Norton, where it joins the A44, then take the A436.
